Alan continuously hones his craft through ongoing studies in theory and performance styles.  His musical influences include Bobby Timmons, Red Garland, Thelonius Monk, and Hampton Hawes.  Alan particularly enjoys adding a jazz flavor  to standards and pop/rock tunes.

Alan Baugh’s career as a pianist/keyboardist spans five decades and includes almost every genre of music in a variety of solo, duo, and band acts.

He studied music theory and composition at Wichita state University before signing on as musical director and pianist for recording artist Vic Dana, with whom he toured extensively,

 

Alan has shared the stage with noted performers including Chuck Mangione, Dawayne Bailey, Tommy Bolin, and Mark Stein and has played as a studio musician for several local recording artists.

Volunteering with Musicians on Call gives Alan the opportunity to bring his live music to the bedsides of hospitalized adults and children in Dallas.
